We decorated 25 bags!
About our project: Instead of the grocery bags, my class created bookmarks. With a delay in motor skills it was simpler for my kids to color in all the white in a smaller space of a bookmark. I find some free templates online I simply print out on cardstock then cut the bookmarks out. After the coloring was completed I laminated them and we passed them out at our school library.

Cardinal Leger School
We decorated 150 bags!
About our project: Cardinal Leger students worked so hard to get these paper grocery bags decorated in time for Earth Day 2009. Peter, store manager at Safeway- Center @ Circle & 8th, kindly donated the bags to our students and we returned them in plenty of time so they could be displayed throughout the week. Thank you to Safeway and the Cardinal Leger students!!!

Henry Kelsey School
We decorated 200 bags!
About our project: I came across this idea on the internet and I thought it would be great to try at our school. I contacted the manager at the Co-op Store and he was very receptive to this idea even though he said he already had another school participating. The students decorated the bags with all kinds of great environmental messages and they were very enthused about promoting environmental awareness in the community. The decorated grocery bags were delivered to the Co-op and they were used to package groceries on Earth Day.
