We decorated 250 bags!

About our project: As a small private school in beautiful Newport, Rhode Island we try on a daily basis to care for our environment. We are lucky to have our school close to the ocean waters and know first hand how important it is to spread environmental awareness within the community. In September of this year we organized our own "Cluny Clean-up" where together we picked up litter on a local beach after school. So we were extremely excited when we found out about the earth day groceries project, as it was another way to get involved in helping the earth. Together during and after school grades PreK-4 decorated about half a bundle of paper bags, given to us by our new friend Tom from the local Stop and Shop. And while this was our first year participating in this project it certainly will not be our last. I think next year will try to decorate a whole bundle! :)
