We decorated 150 bags!
About our project: I am a field student from Slippery Rock University in Slippery Rock, PA, and while researching for an Earth Day lesson that I was teaching to my second-grade class, I found the Earth Day Grocery Bag Project and it sounded like such a fun and beneficial experience that tied in perfectly with what we have been talking about in class that I couldn't pass it up! I contacted the local Corner Store who graciously some bags for the kids to decorate (we recruited all of second and part of third grade), and we are all very happy to know that the kids' Earth Day artwork will be distributed to local people in our town. The kids even said that they wanted their parents to shop at the Corner Store tomorrow to see their bags being used. Thank you for a wonderful opportunity!

Green Woods Charter School
We decorated 105 bags!
About our project: The third grade classes at Green Woods Charter School participated in the Earth Day Groceries Project this year thanks to the help of our local supermarket, Super Fresh! All 78 of our third grade students participated in this environmental awareness project by creating Earth Day themed grocery bags that were donated by our local market. Our student-created grocery bags will be sent back to the store to be used and distributed on April 22nd and the days to follow to celebrate Earth Day! These Earth Day centered bags will remind everyone why it is so important to take care of our Earth and to always reduce, reuse and recycle. Stop by our local Super Fresh on Ridge Avenue and Domino Lane this week and you just may receive one of our student’s Earth Day bags!
