About our project: I am a field student from Slippery Rock University in Slippery Rock, PA, and while researching for an Earth Day lesson that I was teaching to my second-grade class, I found the Earth Day Grocery Bag Project and it sounded like such a fun and beneficial experience that tied in perfectly with what we have been talking about in class that I couldn't pass it up! I contacted the local Corner Store who graciously some bags for the kids to decorate (we recruited all of second and part of third grade), and we are all very happy to know that the kids' Earth Day artwork will be distributed to local people in our town. The kids even said that they wanted their parents to shop at the Corner Store tomorrow to see their bags being used. Thank you for a wonderful opportunity!
