We decorated 193 bags!

About our project: The "Earth Day Groceries Project" is an excellent opportunity for our students to reach out to those within our community! Students are able to discuss ways to save and preserve our planet while decorating the bags! Customers will be informed that April 22nd is Earth Day, and how each one of us can work to save our amazing planet!

We decorated 420 bags!

About our project: The Challenge (Gifted) students at our school led some Earth Day activities. This was one of the things we gave as an option. All of the classes were excited to participate. The students were very creative with their decorations. Four 2nd graders and two first graders were able to deliver the bags to Kroger and thank them for making it possible for us to participate in this meaningful activity.

We decorated 300 bags!

About our project: A week before Earth Day we decided to decorate paper bags and write letters to place on the paper bags about Earth Day and ways we can help save our planet. We also had a "Pennies for Plants" fundraiser to purchase plants for North Forrest Elementary School. In return the class that raised the most money would have a popcorn party and on Earth Day if the school met the goal all students would come to school with green t-shirts and jeans. Mrs. Boleware's Kindergarten class won with 137.00. Mrs. Boyles's class was second and Mrs. Jackson's class was third. The fundraiser made over $500.00 so all of the students were able to wear jeans and green t-shirts. Several students created Earth Day Reports from the 2nd grade and all students pledged to help save planet Earth. We are all excited about having enough money to purchase new plants for our school.

We decorated 100 bags!

About our project: We borrowed about 100 bags from Kroger's Grocery Store in Madison, MS. They were returned the day before in time for distribution for customers shopping on EarthDay to read them and in hopes of becoming more appreciative of our beautiful land.
