We decorated 100 bags!

About our project: For the last 3 years we have participated in decorating Earth day bags with our local grocery store, Zingo's. This is the first time we are recording it on a website. The students were so excited to hear how many people take part in this activity and that they would be recognized for their participation. They worked very hard on decorating bags with wonderful messages for the community.

We decorated 400 bags!

About our project: Students in K-8 each decorated a grocery bag from Zingo's grocery store. I delivered the bags in "batches" and when I arrived at lunch time with the last batch, the cashiers indicated that they hoping that we would be delivering additional bags!! Neighbors were excited about the project as much as the students. Teachers explained the three R's prior to Earthday and in my own classroom, I had several students come back to me and tell me how they had started composting and even more recycling. I hope we can each decorate at least two bags each for the 2009 project. Thank you.
