We decorated
500
bags!
About our project: Each class in our school read One Plastic Bag written by Miranda Paul. After we read the story, we discussed ways we can solve this real world problem. Next, each student decorated their brown paper bag that was donated by Publix. Students were allowed to pick one of the Earth Day messages to put on their bag. I collected all of the decorated bags and delivered them to Publix in Fairhope, AL to be distributed this week.

About our project: We love this project. We have participated since 1997. It is just not April until we decorate grocery bags. The students convey some of the best evironmental messages to our community through this project.

About our project: This project is an excellent way for us to teach evironmental issues. Typically an after testing activity, this year testing is later and students enjoyed the break from regular day to day instruction to show their creative side and decorate bags. They really "get it" on how to spread the message to protect our planet. We get inexpensive markers from the flea market and let the students use templates, stencils and a preplanning sheet to create their masterpieces. Thanks for continuing this project. We have participated from near the start. Thanks Mark!
