We decorated 500 bags!

About our project: This is the second year Hermosa Heights has partnered with one of our local Albertsons for the Earth Day Groceries Project. It was successful once again! Our students, from Headstart through fifth grade, decorated over 500 bags with Earth-friendly messages and images. Ms. Kannard's fifth grade class coordinated the effort, distributing the bags to all participating classrooms, collecting them, and packing them up to go back to Albertsons. Thanks to Albertsons and all the students and teachers who made this project possible! 'Til next year......!

We decorated 700 bags!

About our project: This is our first year to do the grocery bag project, but the students and teachers really enjoyed doing it! We are a Character Counts! school, and we are placing a strong emphasis on service to others. We are forming partnerships with service agencies, and our parents are very involved. We will be doing the grocery bag project again next year!
