We decorated 50
bags!
About our project: This was our first year to participate in the project. I teach at an environmental magnet so I am always looking for new ways for my students to involve the community in environmental awareness. The students had a wonderful time decorating the bags. Together we thought of slogans to put on the bags. My favorite one was-"Please don't throw me away, I can be used in another way!" The students were so excited to know that their bag would be used to put customers' groceries in. The local grocery store was so supportive and excited to help. I thought this was a wonderful project. Next year, I will try to incorporate more grade levels.
