We decorated 60
bags!
About our project: Our participation in the Earth Day Grocery Project 2006 was a huge success! Because there are 30 students in our after school program, we partnered with the "mom and pop" grocery store around the corner from our center. The local newspaper published a short story and a picture of the students with their decorated bags!

About our project: Our troop decorated the bags at our local park. We also helped to clean up the garbage at the park. We were very pleased to say that the Channahon Park District does a great job maintaining our parks, as there was little garbage to be found!!

We decorated 41
bags!
About our project: Homeschooled students and their parents from the south and west suburbs of Chicago had a wonderful Earth Day celebration! Science reports were shared, owl pellets dissected, flowers planted, and of course, grocery bags decorated. 41 bags with environmental messages and scenes were returned to Sterk's Grocery Store in Park Forest and distributed to the public on Earth Day. We look forward to continuing our celebrations of the Earth throughout the year!
