We decorated 277
bags!
About our project: This is the second year for Jane Phillips to partner with United Supermarket. All four of the local radio stations made announcements about the bag distribution. The students did an outstanding job conveying the Earth Day messages in a variety of ways. The store also selected the best three bags in four grade categories. There was also a "best over all" chosen. These students were recognized during the morning assembly on Wednesday of the following week. The bags will remain on display for a couple of weeks at the school. This is planned to be an annual event for us.

We decorated 300
bags!
About our project: Most stores nowadays use plastic bags to bag their groceries. After checking in several stores for paper bags, time was running out for our school to participate in the program. A fellow teacher came to me and stated she had seen paper bags at a store in the town she lived in. She stopped in with only a few days notice and was allowed to bring the grocery bags to our school. Our Student Council children helped facilitate the drop off and the pick up of the bags from each classroom. Our school is a small school in Muskogee and our children worked diligently to complete our bags prior to Earth Day. We had some beautiful bags to deliver to the store. We certainly hope the community enjoys them!
