About our project: 2005 was marked the fifth annual Earth Day Groceries Project coordinated by Montgomery County, Ohio. Kroger donated over 10,000 bags from their central office. The bags were delivered to a store near our office. Montgomery County picked up the bags and delivered them to the participants. Participating organizations decorated and delivered the bags to stores near them. Participants were: Alexandria Montessori, CF Holliday Elementary, Children's Medical Center, Colonel White High School, Demmit Elementary, Eastmont School, ED Smith, Fairview Elementary, Frank Nicholas, Germantown Elm, Gloria Dei Montessori, Helke Elementary, Holy Angels School, Incarnation School, Kitty Hawk Elementary School, Loos Elementary, Lutheran School, Montgomery County Juvenile Drug Court (TASC), Moraine Meadows, Mound Elementary, New Lebanon Elem, Northwood Elm, Our Lady of Mercy, Richard Allen, Saville Elementary, Shiloh Learning Center, Trotwood Prep & Fitness, Union Elementary, Wantz Middle School, Watts Middle School, Westbrook Elementary and World of Wonder Community School. About our project: The fifth graders were studying ecology, and so we decided to complete this project as a tie-in to our unit. All students were very enthusiastic, and we even had coverage from four area newspapers! This was a really neat experience for all!

About our project: The students LOVED this project. It was a chance for them to be creative and they really felt like they were doing a good community service project. The powerpoint on the website was a great way to introduce the project. A visual representation clarified the goal for most of the students. Thank you!!!
