We decorated 95
bags!
About our project: I wanted to do something fun and creative and give back to the community somehow. When I saw the project it was intended for only my class but I put it out for the whole school and soon others joined in. I incorporated my Reduce, Reuse, Recycle unit with the bags. The bags were decorated after we discussed Reuse and defined the word. Everyone decorated and I collected the bags on Thursday then dropped them off so they could be used on Friday. The manager at Vons was so excited about the bags and how beautiful they looked that he actually hung a few on the walls. We all enjoyed the project and will do it again next year. The only tip I can give is to have them sketch it out first then use markers to go over it and color with. Also we did brainstorm about saving the Earth and how or what we could do. I read books called "Love Earth" and "What Can I Do?" which helped them think & plan for their bags.

We decorated 800
bags!
About our project: The students decorated their bags in Mrs. Mahan's art classes. A great deal of though and creativity went into their bags and Mrs. Mahan said the children enjoyed the project very much. Albertsons was also happy to hand them out Earth Day Weekend.
