We decorated 1000 bags!

About our project: The two elementary schools located in our town of Glenwood Springs both took part in the bag program this year...the second year...each school ordered 500 bags and they were all decorated... the groceries were very excited when they received the finished bags...as were the customers who received them the next day on Earth Day. It is a very heartful and loving project that connects those in the community in a wonderful way... Thank you for your project...we will be in it for many years to come... L

We decorated 26 bags!

About our project: The Jefferson County Public Library in Golden, Colorado had 19 children in grades 1-6 in attendance at our Earth Day Program on March 23. We decorated 26 bags which we shared with friends and family to reuse on their trips to the grocery store, since Colorado law restricts public use of "reused" bags in our grocery stores. Pat Dolan, the manager of the local Safeway grocery store, donated the bags for our use in this project. We appreciate Safeway's willingness to support this educational program. The kids brainstormed ways that we could be more respectful of our earth and we read The Lorax by Dr. Seuss to remind us what an awesome responsibility we have to take care of our beautiful world. The kids just loved The Lorax and it was a fun way to talk about how hard we can be on our precious resources. The students were excited to be a part of this national program.
