About our project: 2004 is our second year doing the project. It has become an exciting environmental education unit for me and my students as well. This year's project won The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Office of Environmental Affairs 2004 Secretary's Award for Excellence in Environmental Education. Students look forward to doing the bags as well as continuing our school's beautification project.

We decorated 350 bags!

About our project: Two students from our school chose this as their "Trash Bash" project and were able to involve the whole school. Price Chopper grocery store was very accommodating and helpful. The community at large embraced the project and made special trips to the grocery store to get one of the bags. It was fun, informative, and a worthwhile project to do. The A.M. Chaffee School in Oxford, MA is going to try to make this an annual event.

We decorated 250 bags!

About our project: Our students are very involved in helping the environment! We have had a year long can/bottle drive which raised money to adopt acres in the rainforest, fund a bird sanctuary at our school, and pay for paper recycling pick up. The Earth Day Groceries Project was such a great way to tie it all together and show the community how much we care about our planet!
