We decorated 650
bags!
About our project: We wanted to do the Earth Day Bags project as part of our mentoring program activitites for Earth Day. The mentoring program is with a third grade class at Donnelly Elementary and high school students from Heartland Alternative HS - Greg Betzold and I work for Ponderosa State Park and coordinate the program. The two local grocery stores were happy to participate in the Earth Day Bags project and we collaborated with the US Forest Service to have all 3 local elementary schools decorate bags. It was a great success and students were very excited to participate and search for their bags at the grocery stores!

We decorated 25
bags!
About our project: Our class has spent almost two weeks discussing recycling, reusing and reducing for the sake of our Earth! We have been listening to many Earth Day books and stories and are very excited to be able to complete this activity to connect to the community. We love shopping at the grocery store and we really worked hard on coming up with some great Earth Day slogans and symbols to use in decorating our bags. Publix will be distributing them on Earth Day.
