About our project: We are a smaller elementary school. This is the 3rd year we have participated with the local grocery store as our sponsor. We received many comments from store patrons and our students really enjoyed the community recognition.

We decorated 1032 bags!

About our project: Our school participated in this project as part of an Earthkeeper's Festival sponsored by the City of Northglenn. My Art classes were able to participate in several activities, but the one that seemed most meaningful to the students was the Grocery Bag Project. Not only did they decorate bags during an Art class, but also in an Adventures in Art club. Soon, students were stopping by the Art room to take the bags home to decorate - even enlisting family and grandparent help! They all identified with grocery shopping and loved the idea of their Earth Day messages getting out to the community!

We decorated 250 bags!

About our project: Safeway willingly gave us the bags as we prepared for this project. The kids enjoyed making bags with their earth day messages! In fact, they wanted to make several bags, not just one!
