We decorated 75 bags!

About our project: I projected your wonderful powerpoint slide show onto our classroom screen with the LCD viewer, and played Rodney Brown's "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" song in the background. Three grade 2 classes were present for the show, and were very inspired by the presentation, particularly the samples of students' work.

We decorated 110 bags!

About our project: This is our fourth year of participation and once again the students did a wonderful job of expressing their concern and desire for clean air and water, protection of wildlife, and less waste. Thank you to Country Depot and Alternatives Markets for their continuing particpation. Thanks also to our Principal, Mrs. Scott for her support and Mr. Gover for coordinating the effort.

We decorated 120 bags!

About our project: We completed this project as part of an intergenerational earth day program. The seniors assisted the students from Immaculate Conception School with decorating 120 grocery bags, as well as creating an earth day mural and a planting project. Everyone involved had a great time and thought it was a very worthwhile project. We look forward to participating again next year and including more seniors and students!

We decorated 540 bags!

About our project: The students of St. Alexander School created earth day bags with environmental messages and artwork. The bags were donated by Sobeys Grocery Store which is a new store in our neighbourhood. Previous years we have created bookmarks but this year we were able to use paper bags. The students of St.Alexander School along with Sobeys hope that through the messages and artwork we have created an awareness to protect our environment not only on earth day but everyday.
