We decorated 500 bags!

About our project: This is our 3rd year to participate in the earth day project. At our school the 6 & 8 grades decorate bags as an evironmental project. We do this during the week of standarized testing. This gives students a chance to be creative while getting a much needed break during a stressful week. Food World graciously gave us a bundle of bags to decorate. Students also made book markers to include inside the grocery bags.

We decorated 200 bags!

About our project: As part of our Keep Mobile Beautiful Program, our school collected over 45 bags of litter in our school block area. The same week I distributed the grocery bags to decorate for Earth Day. The student were so enthusiastic about helping in save and protect our earth in some why. Many students went home to tell their parents to shop at our partner grocery store just to see their bags. Next week I will sent home a letter acknowledging their success and letting their parents know. Great project. I will definitely do it again!

We decorated 489 bags!

About our project: Our class read a book entitled WE DREAM OF A WORLD. Using the internet, students researched a variety of threats to our environment and determined ways that they could make a difference. They included this on the bags. More than 3/4 of our student population participated in this Earth Day Grocery Bag Project. On Earth Day, we are planting a tree on our school grounds that was donated by our "Partners in Education."
