About our project: This is the first year that Hampstead Central School has participated in the Earth Day Groceries Project. It was a wonderful activity for all the students. Our local grocery store was very supportive. The posters from the American Forest and Paper Association were terrific. We used two in the school and one at the participating grocery store. We have lots of photos of the students creating beautiful designs on their bags. Some of the pictures will appear in the local newspapers. Thanks!

About our project: I first heard about gb 2000 from my Mailbox Magazine-then I visited your website and found out how easy it was to participate. In 2 days I had the bags from the store and my entire school involved. Many teachers were relieved to have an Earth Day activity. We used this as one of our culminating activities after three weeks of other Earth Day lessons. We invited the local newspapers in for pictures. Last week our classes appeared in about 6 different newspapers in the area. It was wonderful! I loved to see the creativity from all the grades. One suggestion we made was to use crayon only in case of rain-marker would make a mess! Boy did it rain this past Earth Day! Our entire school enjoyed this and it wasn't a headache for me in the least bit. (We have lots of photos taken on a digital camera, but I'm at home right now and its at school......some may appear on our website...... Thanks! Lauren Kenney

We decorated 204
bags!
About our project: This is the second time Marlborough School has participated in this Earth Day event. It's a great way to involve students K-8 in a school activity. I used the activity to get students thinking about how their environmental responsibility reminds others of their own responsibility. Great Activity...Happy Earth Day! Way to Go, Marlborough School...Each bag was the best!
