About our project: I ran across your project while sufing the net for Earth Day projects for my Brownie Troop to do. Was excited about the entire concept. Was a bit late in the game to start things but decided to brave it anyway. I have girls from four of our local grade schools in my Troop, so I involved kids from each of these schools. Next year I plan on starting earlier and hopefully, getting a better response!

About our project: During our Earth Day unit, the students designed the messages for their bags and then decorated the bags on the Friday before Earth Day. In art class the students made signs to help inform the community about Earth Day. The bags were returned to our local grocery store, and they were used up by noon on Earth Day. On Monday the students reflected about the project and wrote about it in their English classes.
