We decorated 477
bags!
About our project: 22 classes of second and third graders participated in the grocery bag project for the first time. The students were excited to decorate the bags with environmental messages. They were distributed to 3 of our local grocery stores that very willingly loaned us the bags. We didn't discover the project until the week right before Earth Day, so we are already looking forward to next year of having more participation. What a great way to get students involved!

We decorated 390
bags!
About our project: This was our first time to participate in this project. It was quite a success. Piggly Wiggly was more than willing to donate the bags. The children were very excited and eager to decorate the groceries bags as their part of sending out the message that we are aware of the need to recycle and take care of our environment. At the end of the project my class went to the Piggly Wiggly store and had our picture taken with some of the beautifully decorated groceries bags. We look forward to participating in this project again next year. Mrs. G. Patteson
