We decorated 287
bags!
About our project: Irwin students enjoyed decorating the Earth Day bags as a part of their celebration of Earth Day throughout the month of April, 2001. Students also planted trees and flowers, decorated classroom doorways, and even decorated the chain-link fence around their playground with flowers created from tied-on fabric strips. They recycled cans, attended a presentation on recycling, and recieved a packet of "Forget-me-not" flower seeds to take home. The best part of the grocery bag project was that every student in the building was involved, and hopefully the lessons on reducing, reusing, and recycling followed them home where they will have a significant impact on their implementation.

We decorated 200
bags!
About our project: We are from Morrison-Mock Elementary School in Muncie, Indiana 47304. Our school is comprised of students from pre-school through fifth grade, regular and special education. We completed 200 bags and all students participated. We delivered these to a locally owned book store, because we had some problems with our local grocery store. The book store truly loved being a part of this program and asked to be included again next year. It was a great learning opportunity during our month long Earth Awareness Project. Thank you for including us in this project!
