We decorated 100
bags!
About our project: This is the first year we participate in the Earth Day Groceries Project. The kids really enjoiyed this activity. They picked one slogan that they wanted to design their bag around or on their pizza boxes (we decorated 120 pizza boxes). The kids were very eager to show off their artwork and creativity with the rest of the community, so they got right to work! On Friday, the 20th, we invited the the local press and television. They were glad to take part to our activity and to become soldiers of our Planet. Our students presented an ecological fashion with recyclable materials Our great successes were to make students feel the necessity of living on a clean planet! Inst.Gheban Liliana

We decorated 300
bags!
About our project: Our story started when we found out about this project. We thought the theme involved both fun and a big mission - To save our planet! This "Earth Day Groceries Project" made our students and teachers very happy and our school manager to be proud. First we started to look for shops to distribute our bags. A big part of our success was due to the Municipality. You do know how busy a mayor must be, but he made time for saving the Earth. Then, encouraged by our mayor, we found the shops to distribute our bags on April 22nd. After that, we announced the local radio station about the action that would take place in the Earth's Day name. The elder students wrote the slogans and the younger one changed the simple bags into ecological messengers. On Friday, the 20th, we invited the shops'representants, the mayor and the local radio station. They were glad to take part to our activity and to become soldiers of our Planet. Our great successes were to make students feel the necessity of living on a clean planet, to receive support from the local Municipality, to make our voices being heard by everybody through the local radio station and to have such reliable partners (shops)in our fight against pollution. As a tip: Make your voices heard and a helping hand will reach you!
