We decorated 2500
bags!
About our project: We start decorating the bags from the first days of April, we did this in our House Day, Art Classes, and inviting mothers and teachers to decorate bags. Miss Tere our art teacher did a great job handing out all the material. Then we advertised our visit to the grocery store in the local newspaper. Eight students from 5th, 6th and 9th grade went to a radio station and talked live during 15 minutes about the whole project. On Earth Day 40 students from 1st grade to 9th grade went to Superama Gobernadores - the grocery store- between 8:30 and 2 pm. They took turns packing the groceries and other things people bought in the decorated bags. As they packed things, they explained why they where there and that we were celebrating the Earth Day inviting people to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle and trying to convince them that using recycled paper bags was better than using plastic ones which are not recycable in our country. We also hand out flyers with the purpose of the project and hanged big banners with 12 ideas for reusing the paper bags.
