Bags decorated: 116
Comments: Our second grade class is involved in a school project about environmental
responsibility. Second graders had to share ways to keep Albuquerque beautiful.
We decided to spread the message by participating in the Earth Day Grocery
Bag Project. Our little class of 19 students decorated 116 bags in one day!
Some students even gave up their lunch and recess. We wrote messages about
recycling, composting, not littering, carpooling and riding bikes to work.
We also decorated some with birthday messages for the earth. We took the
bags to Smith's Grocery Store and they were passed out to customers on Earth
Day.
